    The popular belief since Roman times is that a certain Julius Gracus cured his arthritis in the waters of Solán de Cabras in 182 BC, attributing curative properties to them.

    According to local tales, with records dating back to the 16th and even the 17th centuries, shepherds discovered that goats were HEALED BY DRINKING AND BATHING IN THE WATERS that flowed from the spring.

    THE DOCTOR AND PHILOSOPHER JUAN PABLO FORNER PERFORMED THE FIRST ANALYSES OF THE WATERS AND THEIR COMPOSITION IN 1787, AND THEY REMAIN ALMOST UNCHANGED TO THIS DAY. SOLÁN DE CABRAS RECEIVES OFFICIAL RECOGNITION AS A MEDICINAL MINERAL WATER

    The Aguas Solán de Cabras spring is declared to be of interest to the public and a royal site by Spain's King Charles IV, a denomination given to enclaves with historical-artistic heritage that the monarchy used as places of rest, recreation or residence.

    Ferdinand VII and Mary Josephine of Saxony travel to the Solán de Cabras Spring in 1826 in an attempt to cure the Queen's infertility, so she could give birth to a male heir and so ensure the continuity of the royal line.

    Our Damajuanas

    Sales took place in Madrid in 1903 at a central storage tank. As there were no bottling plants yet, these glass flagons, known as "damajuanas" were filled by hand. When the water ran out, our forefathers would return with their carts or mules to restock.

    Solán de Cabras was sold in pharmacies from the start of the century, while the 1-litre bottles known as Borines were first produced in 1960. The loyalty of our consumers made us pioneers in home water service.

    In 1980, Solán de Cabras experienced massive expansion, mainly thanks to the emergence of the Tetrabrik, which provided a gateway into supermarkets. Solán de Cabras also created Bisolán at the time.

    In 1997, Solán de Cabras released its first blue PET 330ml bottle, with the container protecting the properties of the water from rays of light.

    The #gotasdesolidaridad charity campaign is launched. Solán de Cabras joins forces with the Spanish Cancer Association, turning its iconic 1.5 L PET bottle pink. Thanks to the success of the campaign, in 2016 the 33cl bottle is also added.
